A Toolkit on Creative Approaches to Studying Change: Looking Back and Determining the Path Ahead

McGill University

2021

In 2021, More Than Words published "A Toolkit on Creative Approaches to Studying Change: Looking Back and Determining the Path Ahead," and Encore Graphics was tasked with the layout and design. The publication features a minimalist design to emphasize both the valuable information and the art created by Indigenous youth. The toolkit stems from two interconnected projects: Networks for Change and Well-being, which aimed to build skills for young Indigenous people to address sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) using arts-based tools, and More Than Words, which focuses on the impact of arts-based engagement on survivors, their families, and communities. This toolkit provides an overview of tools used to evaluate the difference these youth-led, Indigenous-focused, arts-based projects are making. It also serves as a guide for researchers or communities to determine which creative methods are best suited to assess their initiatives, especially those tackling SGBV.
