In early 2021, Encore Graphics was hired by 2-Spirited Peoples of the 1st Nations to design materials for the SEEMA Project, a community-based research initiative supported by the University of Toronto. The project explored the traditional and contemporary use of SEEMA (tobacco) among Toronto’s urban 2-Spirited and Indigenous communities, gathering personal testimonies on its sacred and cultural significance. Encore created a set of postcard-sized flyers along with coordinated social media posts and stories to help share the project’s findings in a way that was accessible, community-rooted, and visually resonant.
