In 2019, Encore Graphics began a meaningful collaboration with the Young Indigenous Women’s Utopia (YIWU), a group dedicated to using ceremony, culture, and arts-based activism to combat gender-based and colonial violence in Treaty 6 Territory. After hosting a graphic design workshop with the group and creating DIY zines, Gabrielle Giroux designed their first publication, a self-titled book. The book showcases stories, photographs, art, and poems from the girls, woven together with striking imagery and a deep red hue that echoes the MMIWG2S movement.
